at web summit i worked on all facets of event design as a lead designer and manager
Wayfinding design
web summit hosts several large scale events per year, with its flagship event in lisbon hosting over 70,000 attendees every november.
I led the Event design team at Web Summit for 2 years, and one of our main tasks was the wayfinding system and signage at each event.

Originally Web Summit's wayfinding system was a little unorganised and lacked consistency. Alongside the production team, we worked on a new system that involved redesigning structures, typography, iconography, colour systems, mapping and every other aspect of wayfinding design to ensure a coherent and comprehensive crowdflow plan.
icon set
While at Web Summit I designed an icon set comprising of over 150 unique assets. Before we rolled out this set, the company had been using icons pulled from different sets across its platforms which led to some consistency problems.

Once this set was designed, it was rolled out for digital platforms like app and website, aswell as in print format for signage and collateral.
stage design
Over the course of my time at Web Summit I designed several stages, often in collaboration with our production designers.
There are so many aspects and intricacies to stage design, but when
lots of skillful people come together to build a stage for a show its a seriously fulfilling experience.
