elgin energy already had a pre-existing brand structure and guidelines, the brief was to use these as a starting point but 'push the boat out' and play with their pre-existing brand.
as this was an internal event, it was ok to have a bit of fun with the brand rules without worrying about diluting or confusing the external brand equity.
